Daymark: Photo Day Calendar

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 September 2026
App: Daymark: Photo Day Calendar (package com.namib.daymark)
Publisher: Namib

Photos stay on your phone. Daymark: Photo Day Calendar reads your camera roll by calendar day and does not copy a second library, create an account, or send your photos to us.

This Privacy Policy describes how Namib (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Android app Daymark: Photo Day Calendar. It applies only to this app.

1. Who we are

Daymark: Photo Day Calendar is a personal month calendar of photos and videos already on your device. For privacy questions, contact pat23.w@gmail.com.

2. Information stored on your device

The app does not operate a cloud account. Labels you add are stored only in the app’s private storage on this phone (Android DataStore), unless you export them yourself. That local data can include:

Photos and videos stay in the device camera roll (Android MediaStore). The app reads them to place them on the matching local calendar day and to show thumbnails, day pages, Events, and the optional Today widget. It does not upload them or copy a second photo library.

3. Information we do not collect ourselves

Namib does not run a backend that receives your photos, videos, day names, tags, or covers. We do not sell your personal information. There is no Namib account and no Namib analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Photos are not uploaded for ads.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob) and consent

Daymark shows a banner on the Events list and, occasionally, a full-screen interstitial after you leave a day. Ads never sit on the month or week calendar, a day page, or the photo viewer. Closing a day never waits for an ad to load.

Advertising is provided by Google AdMob. On supported devices and regions, Daymark uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent where required before ads are requested. Depending on your region, choices, and device settings, Google and its partners may process information such as:

This processing is carried out by Google under its own terms and policies. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob & privacy. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings (for example, Ads / Privacy settings on your device).

5. Permissions

Depending on Android version and what you allow, Daymark: Photo Day Calendar may request:

You can deny access. The calendar still works; days without readable media stay empty. On Android 14+, you may grant only selected items instead of the full roll.

6. Optional backup you control

Settings can export names, tags, and covers to a JSON file you choose on the device (or in another app’s storage picker, such as a folder or cloud drive you pick). Photos and videos are not copied into that file. Restore replaces labels stored in this app on this phone. Covers only match if the same MediaStore items still exist.

If you save that file somewhere other than this phone, that location’s own privacy policy applies.

7. Home-screen widget

If you add the Today widget, it shows today’s cover and name using data already on the device. The widget does not send that content to Namib.

8. Device backups

Android backup (if enabled on your device) may include this app’s private preferences in a device backup. Those backups are controlled by your device and Google/Android backup settings, not by a Namib cloud service. Camera-roll photos follow your device photo backup settings, which are outside this app.

9. Data retention and deletion

Local labels remain on your device until you change them, clear the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the app’s DataStore from the device (unless it also exists in a separate device backup you keep). Photos and videos stay in the camera roll until you delete them there.

Because we do not hold a copy of your library on our servers, there is no Namib-side photo dataset to delete. For questions, email pat23.w@gmail.com.

10. Children’s privacy

Daymark: Photo Day Calendar is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Namib server. If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately through ads or the app, contact us at the email above.

11. International users

Ad partners such as Google may process data on servers outside your country. Where required by law (for example GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA-style rules), consent and privacy choices are presented via Google UMP and/or your device settings.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app’s practices change. The “Effective date” at the top will be revised when we do.
