Daylight

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 August 2026
App: Daylight (package com.namib.daylight)
Publisher: Namib

Daylight is a personal money-allowance app. Your budget and spending ledger stay on your device. The app uses Google advertising services for optional ads and rewarded unlocks.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Namib (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Daylight Android application. For privacy questions, contact: pat23.w@gmail.com.

2. Information stored on your device

Daylight stores the information you enter so the app can calculate how much you can spend today. This data is saved locally on your device (in the app’s private storage / database) and includes:

We do not create user accounts, and the app does not upload your ledger to a Namib server. There is no Namib cloud sync in the current version.

3. Information we do not collect ourselves

Namib does not operate a backend that receives your financial ledger. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob) and consent

Daylight shows ads (including native ads) and optional rewarded videos used to unlock extra themes or statistics. Advertising is provided by Google AdMob.

On supported devices/regions, Daylight uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent where required before ads are requested. Depending on your region, choices, and device settings, Google and its partners may process information such as:

This processing is carried out by Google under its own terms and policies. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob & privacy.

You can also reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings (for example, Ads / Privacy settings on your device).

5. Notifications

If you enable the evening check-in reminder, Daylight schedules a local notification on your device. Reminder content is a general nudge to log spending; it does not send your ledger to Namib. On Android 13+, notification permission is requested when needed.

6. Home-screen widget

If you add the Daylight widget, it displays your “still today” amount using data already stored on the device.

7. Permissions

Depending on Android version and features you use, Daylight may require:

8. Backups

Android backup features (if enabled on your device) may include app data in device backups. Those backups are controlled by your device and Google/Android backup settings, not by a Namib cloud service.

9. Data retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove Daylight’s data by clearing the app’s storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling Daylight removes the app’s local database from the device (unless retained only in a separate device backup you keep).

10. Children’s privacy

Daylight is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Namib server. If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately through ads or the app, contact us at the email above.

11. International users

Ad partners such as Google may process data on servers outside your country. Where required by law (for example GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA-style rules), consent and privacy choices are presented via Google UMP and/or your device settings.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app’s practices change. The “Effective date” at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of Daylight after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
